Trusting Your Own Path in a World That Wants You to Fit In

May 15, 2026
There’s an interesting balance between wanting to belong, and knowing you were never really built for the mainstream.

I’ve spent a lot of my life trying to figure that out.

Not just with business or career paths, but with health, parenting, homeschooling, faith, ranch life, all of it.
I’ll feel the pull to fit in, to do what makes sense to other people, to follow the “normal” path for a while… and eventually something in me pushes back because it still doesn’t feel aligned.

I think part of being human is the basic biological need to feel included.

We want community.
We crave connection.
We want to know we belong somewhere.

I’ve now truly imbibed the truth that God gives each of us a unique vision and set of gifts.

A different way of seeing things. Different desires.

Different priorities.

And that can feel isolating sometimes.

Especially when your path doesn’t fully make sense to the people around you.

The reality is you’re never really alone, you just may feel that way from time to time.

I’m learning that the goal isn’t to force yourself into every circle.

It’s to trust the vision.

Trust the voice inside of you.

Keep walking it out in an authentic way, staying true to your inner calling, and you will connect with the people who “get it” eventually.

And sometimes, your circle is small.

But small doesn’t mean bad or good, it just is.

Today, know you’re loved and your heart’s calling matters.
